I thought it was time to update this blog with a bit more detail and hopefully answer some of the questions that have been prompted by the invitations.  We are getting really excited now, not long to go.  We are so looking forward to gathering people together for a big celebration, particularly the far-flung siblings!

On Saturday we had a workshop with a local jeweller who showed us how to make our own wedding rings, how cool is that!  We had such a good time, as you can see below!

Q: Where is Brookhall?
A: is about 4 miles west of Lisburn city centre.  Please see this zoomable map for details.

Q: Is there parking?
A: Yes, there is some parking at Brookhall.  However, we are providing coaches to take our guests back to Belfast at the end of the night if this would be more convenient for you.  If you prefer to make your own way home please note that the venue has a strict curfew, and requests that all guests leave the premises by 1am at the latest.  If you are intending to get a taxi from Brookhall please book it in advance.

Q: How is BYOB going to work?
A: We have wine to go with dinner, and sparkling wine for the toast.  For the rest of the celebrations, just bring whatever you want to drink with you.  We will have plenty of ice and glasses.

Q: I'm vegetarian, vegan, or have other dietary needs, what do I do?
A: Just let us know on your RSVP slip and we will make sure there is some delicious food available for you!

Q: What time does the party end?
A: The music will finish at 12 midnight, and we all then have a bit of time to finish celebrating before leaving at 1am.

Q: Do you have a wedding gift list registered somewhere?
A: No gifts are expected at all!  We already have everything we need for our home.  However, if you feel the need to mark the occasion with a small gift, you can take a look at our online honeymoon registry.

Q: What time is the ceremony?
A: The ceremony will be at 3pm.

Q: Can I bring my kids?
A: We would so love to have all of our friends' children at our wedding, but unfortunately the venue is not suitable for kids as there is a lot of farm machinery and other dangerous-for-kids stuff.  We hope you understand our decision.

Q: Anything else I need to know?
A: The wedding is in a barn, and both the barn and surrounding area has quite uneven flooring.  Ladies, if you are planning to wear heels and dance later on, it might be an idea to slip a pair of flat shoes into your bag for later in the evening.  We would prefer all of our guests to make it home without injury!

Brook Hall

So we sent out most of the Save The Dates yesterday and apparently some of them have arrived already so we thought we had better put some more information up!

The wedding will be taking place in Brook Hall, a lovely historic farm near Lisburn.  The ceremony and celebrations will be taking place in the barn onsite, although if the weather is nice (fingers crossed!) we will all be able to explore the lovely surroundings as well.  Brook Hall's website can be found here.  It is located on the Ballinderry Road, you can look at a map of the area here.

We are really looking forward to it, not long now!
